Viasat, Inc. (NASDAQ; VSAT) announced a partnership with TiVo, a wholly owned subsidiary of Xperi Inc. (NYSE: XPER), to integrate the TiVo operating system as the connected TV platform across Viasat-delivered services worldwide.
The announcement was made at the StreamTV Show in Denver on June 16, 2026. Under the agreement, Viasat will deliver streaming services to its global satellite customer base through TiVo's connected TV operating system.
According to a press release statement, the partnership is intended to extend streaming television access into markets where traditional broadband infrastructure is limited. The arrangement also aims to provide content providers already integrated with TiVo the ability to reach satellite-served audiences without additional development work.
Viasat said it is also evaluating deployment of the platform across its aviation and maritime businesses.
"Our mission has always been to connect the unconnected. With TiVo as our smart TV operating system, we're uniquely positioned to bring satellite-delivered content into the streaming era and deliver rich, large-screen streaming experiences to new users worldwide," said Mike Kreller, Senior Vice President of Strategic Initiatives at Viasat.
"Viasat's global reach allows us to bring the content-rich, highly personalized, and easy-to-use TiVo OS experience to entirely new markets that traditional connected TV platforms have not served," said Geir Skaaden, Chief Product Officer at Xperi.
