March 1, 2023 6:24 AM ESTInvesting.com -- Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA) is set to confirm on Wednesday that it will build an assembly plant in Mexico, after President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador appeared to drop some of his objections to the electric carmakers plans.

MEXICO CITY (Reuters) - Electric car maker Tesla Inc has chosen the northern Mexican state of Nuevo Leon as the site for its first plant in the country, Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador said on Tuesday.
The announcement followed months of speculation over the global auto giant's plans for a "gigafactory" in the Latin American country as it aims to meet an ambitious global plan to sell 20 million electric vehicles a year by 2030.

S&P 500 fell 2.67% with the bears securing the first weekly close below 4000 since mid-January. The index closed the week with its forward 12-month P/E ratio at 17.7, below the 5-year average (18.5) and above the 10-year average (17.2).

BERLIN (Reuters) -Tesla's German plant in Brandenburg near Berlin is now producing 4,000 cars per week, the company said on Monday, quadrupling from May when Chief Executive Elon Musk had compared investment in Tesla's new plants to "gigantic money furnaces."
The Berlin plant hit the production target three weeks ahead of a production schedule reviewed by Reuters.
