EU fines Facebook 110 million euros over WhatsApp deal
May 18, 2017 2:56 AM EDTBRUSSELS (Reuters) - European Union antitrust regulators fined Facebook 110 million euros ($122 million) on Thursday for giving misleading information during a vetting of its deal to acquire messaging service WhatsApp in 2014.

(Reuters) - Facebook Inc's (NASDAQ: FB) Instagram has souped up its camera with quirky face-tracking filters, adding another feature similar to one offered by social media rival Snap Inc's (NYSE: SNAP) Snapchat.
Instagram users will now be able to choose from eight filters including koala ears that move and twitch as well as math equations that spin to create humorous effects for their photos or videos.

Facebook fined 150,000 euros by French data watchdog
May 16, 2017 6:07 AM EDTPARIS (Reuters) - Facebook (NASDAQ: FB) has been fined 150,000 euros ($166,000) by France's data protection watchdog for failing to prevent its users' data being accessed by advertisers.
Watchdog CNIL said its fine - which was imposed on both Facebook Inc and Facebook Ireland - was part of a wider European investigation also being carried out in Belgium, the Netherlands, Spain and Germany into some of Facebook's practices.
