Fortis Reports First Quarter Earnings of $294 million
May 2, 2017 6:01 AM EDTST. JOHN'S, NEWFOUNDLAND AND LABRADOR -- (Marketwired) -- 05/02/17 -- Fortis Inc. ("Fortis" or the "Corporation") (TSX: FTS)(NYSE: FTS), a leader in the North American regulated electric and gas utility industry, released its first quarter results today. The Corporation's net earnings attributable to common equity shareholders for the first quarter of 2017 were $294 million, or $0.72 per common share, compared to $162 million, or $0.57 per common share, for the first quarter of 2016.
