Kirkland's, Inc. (NASDAQ: KIRK) reported Q4 EPS of $0.69, $0.01 better than the analyst estimate of $0.68. Revenue for the quarter came in at $156.1 million versus the consensus estimate of $158.8 million.
On a 13-week basis, comparable store sales for the fourth quarter of fiscal 2013, including e-commerce sales, were flat compared with a decrease of 2.6% in the prior-year quarter. Kirkland’s opened 8 stores and closed 7 during the fourth quarter, bringing the total number of stores to 324 at quarter end.
Sees FY2014 EPS of $0.90-$1.00, versus the consensus of $1.06. Total sales for fiscal 2014 are expected to increase approximately 8% to 10% compared with fiscal 2013. This level of sales performance would imply a comparable store sales increase of approximately 3% to 4% for fiscal 2014.
