Tesla (TSLA) Cedes Title of Number One Selling Vehicle in Norway Last Month

Tesla Motors (Nasdaq: TSLA) lost its crown as number-one selling car in Norway just one month after taking the title.

AutoNews said that about 716 Nissan (OTCBB: NSANY) Leaf EVs were sold last month in Norway, while the Toyota (NYSE: TM) Auris saw volume of 679 units, and Volkswagen's (OTCBB::VLKAY) Golf had 646 unit sales.

Year-to-date, the Lead is Norway's number four selling car and holds a 3.2 percent market share.

Following sales volume of 616 units in September, Tesla sales slumps to just 98 units last month.

Tesla's manufacturing lag has caused many in Norway to purchase pre-owned Tesla vehicles, like the Model S sedan, at a substantial premium to what a new version of the vehicle might cost.

Norway offers over an estimated $8,000 in savings for EV owners via parking passes, credits, and other items. About 925 EVs were sold in the country last month, amounting to seven percent of total sales.

Ahead of the bell, Tesla is up 0.8 percent.
