Investors Not Necessarily Rushing Into Apple (AAPL) Amid Icahn Bid for Buyback

October 24, 2013 12:29 PM EDT
Activist investor Carl Icahn sent a letter to Apple (Nasdaq: AAPL) CEO Tim Cook pushing for Apple to return a good chunk, if not all, of Apple's $150 billion cash horde to investors via stock buybacks. The letter follows a meeting between the two in September, which had Icahn also pushing for the buyback.

On Yahoo! Finance, the following question is being asked: Carl Icahn, billionaire and activist investor, is putting more money into Apple. Do you follow his lead?

As of midday Thursday, here is the tally:

* Yes, he's a genius - 1279 votes, or about 14 percent of the total
* No, I won't - 3668 votes, or about 41 percent of the total
* It depends on the stock - 1294 votes, or about 15 percent of the total
* Icahn, Schmicahn, I do my own research - 2649 votes, or about 30 percent of the total

Shares of Apple are up 1.2 percent on the session.
