Best Buy (NYSE: BBY) isn't sitting on the sidelines with Apple (Nasdaq: AAPL) rolling out its next-generation iPad tablets.
CNET noted today that Best Buy will offer a gift card with a minimum of $200, though it wasn't specified whether or not the card had to be put toward the purchase of a new iPad. Some users might receive higher trade-in values depending on condition and model of iPad. (Third- and fourth-generation iPads along with the old iPad mini will be considered for trades.)
Tablets will be considered working if they can power on, have no water damage and/or a cracked screen.
The promotion runs from October 22nd through November 9th at all U.S. Best Buy locations.
While the new iPad mini starts at $399 and iPad Air at $499, $200 or more will go a long way to cutting down that cost.
Shares of Best Buy are down about 1 percent Wednesday.
