With BlackBerry (Nasdaq: BBRY) drawing in at least 20 percent of its total revenue from the U.S., a launch in the market would be key for the company.
Reports out Friday morning have AT&T (NYSE: T) expecting to launch BlackBerry's Z10 smartphone on March 22nd. The time frame is close to what was expected from the large U.S. wireless carriers, with peer Verizon Wireless (NYSE: VZ) expected to launch the device later in March as well.
Sprint Nextel (NYSE: S) isn't expected to offer the Z10, the company said recently, though it is still mulling whether or not to offer BlackBerry's QWERTY keyboard-equipped Q10.
A BlackBerry spokesperson didn't confirm the news.
Shares of BlackBerry have been trading rather flattish in March, after dipping lower upon launch of the BB10-equipped Z10 in February. Speculation has mounted over what sort of demand BlackBerry has been seeing with its latest and greatest, though CEO Thorsten Heins commented at a developer event Thursday that feedback has been "very encouraging," a rather ominous statement.
Shares of BlackBerry are up about 1.4 percent early.
