Canadian Solar, Inc. (NASDAQ: CSIQ) reported Q2 EPS of $0.16, $0.12 worse than the analyst estimate of $0.28. Revenue for the quarter came in at $481.8 million versus the consensus estimate of $449.76 million.
Solar module shipments for the second quarter of 2011 totaled 287 MW compared to shipments of 244 MW in the first quarter 2011 and 181 MW in the second quarter of 2010.
For the third quarter of 2011, recognized shipments are expected to be in the range of approximately 350 MW to 360 MW, with gross margin expected to be between 9% and 12%.
