Xometry, Inc. (NASDAQ: XMTR) announced three new capabilities for its injection molding platform, including an expanded materials catalog, on-demand design consultations, and a one-click reordering feature, according to a company press release.
The updated materials catalog now supports auto-quoting for six additional materials: glass-filled Nylon, PBT, PC-PBT, PLA, PPE-PS, and PSU. The platform's process-recommendation system automatically routes parts suited for injection molding to that process.
Customers can now schedule Design for Manufacturability consultations directly on the platform at no charge. Xometry says the consultations connect customers with manufacturing experts during the design stage, before tooling is finalized.
The new one-click reordering feature allows customers to generate a new quote that carries forward part configurations, specifications, and files from a prior order. Orders are routed to the original supplier already holding the tool, and contract pricing from previous runs is preserved. Customers can also adjust quantities or change materials when using the reorder function.
"Injection molding is one of the most proven processes in manufacturing, but the procurement experience hasn't kept pace with how engineers and sourcing teams actually work today," said Vaidy Raghavan, Chief Technology Officer at Xometry. "Our latest capabilities are about removing friction, whether that's getting expert eyes on a design before it goes to production or reordering a proven part."
