MicroVision, Inc. (NASDAQ: MVIS) announced it has shipped IRIS lidar sensors to Lake Fusion Technologies (LFT) LLC, as part of a three-way collaboration with Timberline Aerospace to develop and deploy integrated IRIS Sensor Packages.
According to a press release, LFT will use the sensors to support development and validation activities for airborne situational awareness, infrastructure monitoring, and perception applications across commercial and government markets. Timberline Aerospace is described as playing a role in driving adoption and pursuing FAA certification of LFT's platform.
The three companies said they are working to establish MicroVision's IRIS sensor as a primary lidar component within LFT's platform architecture. No financial terms were disclosed.
"Organizations operating in critical environments require perception solutions that combine accuracy, reliability, and scalability," said Glen DeVos, Chief Executive Officer of MicroVision.
"Welcoming MicroVision onboard strengthens our ability to broaden and accelerate delivery of our IRIS Sensor Packages," said Christian Meyer, CEO of LFT Group.
Tyson Davis, President of Timberline Aerospace and Timberline Helicopters Inc., said the collaboration "enhances our ability to accelerate customer deployments and expand the availability of advanced sensing solutions."
MicroVision, headquartered in Redmond, Washington, develops lidar-based perception systems for automotive, industrial, and security and defense markets, with engineering operations in the U.S. and Germany.
