Clean Energy Fuels Corp. (NASDAQ: CLNE) has been awarded two contracts to design and install liquefied natural gas fueling systems for power generation applications in Puerto Rico, according to a company press release.
The first contract is with P.R. Energy Partners, a Puerto Rico-based energy solutions distributor and infrastructure developer. Under the agreement, Clean Energy will design and build an LNG supply station to fuel a six-megawatt combined heat and power plant supporting residential and hotel operations.
The second contract is with an unnamed global healthcare supplier, for which Clean Energy will provide LNG station equipment and installation to support pharmaceutical manufacturing operations in Puerto Rico.
Together, the two projects represent 10 megawatts of total installed power capacity and mark Clean Energy's first LNG supply infrastructure agreements in Puerto Rico.
"P.R. Energy Partners is committed to providing our customers with clean, reliable power as well as contributing to a more robust and stable energy grid for our island of Puerto Rico," said Eduardo M. Cortes, Managing Partner at P.R. Energy Partners.
Sean Columbia, General Manager of CE Technologies at Clean Energy, said the agreements represent several firsts for the company as it expands its LNG infrastructure into Puerto Rico and a new customer base.
