TransAlta receives DOE order to keep Centralia Unit 2 operational

TransAlta Corporation (NYSE: TAC) announced that its subsidiary TransAlta Centralia Generation LLC received an order from the United States Department of Energy mandating that Centralia Unit 2 in Washington State remain available for operation for 90 days until September 13, 2026.
The Calgary-based power generator confirmed it will comply with the federal order and work with the U.S. Department of Energy and Washington state government regarding the directive.
The announcement was made in a press release statement from the company. TransAlta operates power generation facilities across Canada, the United States and Western Australia.
