Red Cat Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ: RCAT) introduced Hellcat, a small unmanned aircraft system built on its existing Black Widow platform. The company unveiled the drone at Eurosatory 2026, a defense industry event in Europe.
The Hellcat incorporates feedback from field operations and Red Cat's partnership with Ukraine. The system uses Modular Open Systems Architecture principles, allowing customers to configure command-and-control, payload, software and integration systems based on operational requirements.
"Black Widow was purpose-built to meet the rigorous requirements of the U.S. Army's Short Range Reconnaissance program, and it remains a cornerstone of our small UAS leadership," said Jeff Thompson, Chief Executive Officer of Red Cat.
The aircraft features GPS-denied operation capabilities, RTH Azimuth recovery without GPS, WEB Standoff Radio support, and a field-repairable design that fits in a rucksack. Hellcat offers more than 50 minutes of flight time and up to 6.8 miles of range while maintaining operator line-of-sight. The system can be equipped with Red Cat's Ocellus 3CP three-camera payload.
Red Cat described Hellcat as part of its broader Family of Systems, which includes Black Widow, FlightWave Edge 130, FANG, Blue Ops Variant 7 Uncrewed Surface Vessel, and command-and-control capabilities across air, land and sea domains.
The Salt Lake City-based company provides drone and robotic solutions for defense and national security applications. The information is based on a company press release.
