Starbucks Corporation (NASDAQ: SBUX) designated Val Bauduin as its principal accounting officer on June 11, 2026, according to a company statement.
Bauduin, 50, will continue serving as senior vice president of Corporate Finance and Development while taking on the new role. He reports to Cathy Smith, executive vice president and chief financial officer, who retains her position as principal financial officer but transfers principal accounting officer responsibilities to Bauduin.
Bauduin joined Starbucks in 2024 as senior vice president of Corporate Finance, then moved to senior vice president of North America Finance in 2025 before his current appointment in 2026. He served as interim chief financial officer in March 2025.
Prior to Starbucks, Bauduin worked at Marriott International from 2014 to 2024 in various leadership positions, including controller and chief accounting officer, and later as CFO of consumer operations, technology, and emerging businesses.
The company stated no family relationships exist between Bauduin and current executive officers or directors. No compensation changes were implemented with his new designation, and he will continue participating in existing compensation and benefit programs for similarly situated officers.
