Barrick releases 2025 sustainability report with safety improvements

Barrick Mining Corporation (NYSE: B) published its 2025 sustainability report, detailing performance metrics across environmental and social initiatives during the year.
The Toronto-based mining company reported a 60% reduction in total recordable injury frequency rate since 2020 and a 28% year-on-year decrease in lost time injuries. The company maintained focus on fatality prevention as part of its safety programs.
Barrick reported that 96% of its employees and 76% of suppliers were from host countries in 2025, with more than $7.1 billion spent with local and host country suppliers. The company invested over $62 million in community-led development initiatives during the year.
The mining company exceeded its water reuse and recycling target of 80% and continued implementing its Biodiversity Risk and Impact Assessment tool across operations. Barrick also advanced supplier engagement regarding Scope 3 emissions.
In April 2026, the company published a separate Human Rights Report addressing risk management and oversight across operations and supply chains.
"As we enter an exciting new phase of growth and delivery, sustainability remains fundamental to how we operate," said President and CEO Mark Hill. The company maintained an 'A' rating on its Sustainability Scorecard during 2025.
Barrick operates mining, exploration and development projects across 17 countries and five continents, with gold and copper assets comprising its primary portfolio.
