Celldex Therapeutics Inc. (NASDAQ: CLDX) will present clinical data from its mast cell targeting programs at the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology Annual Congress in Istanbul on June 12-15.
The company will deliver two flash talks on barzolvolimab, its monoclonal antibody treatment for chronic spontaneous urticaria and cold urticaria. One presentation will focus on long-term treatment results showing sustained improvement in angioedema symptoms for chronic spontaneous urticaria patients who did not respond to antihistamines. The second will present validation data for a patient-reported outcome measure used in cold urticaria clinical trials.
Celldex will also present first-in-human results from its Phase 1 trial of CDX-622, a bispecific antibody targeting both thymic stromal lymphopoietin and stem cell factor, in a late-breaking poster session.
Barzolvolimab targets mast cells by binding to the KIT receptor and inhibiting its activity. The company describes it as having potential as a treatment for patients with chronic spontaneous urticaria, cold urticaria and symptomatic dermographism based on Phase 2 study data. The drug is currently in Phase 3 studies for chronic spontaneous urticaria and cold urticaria, and Phase 2 studies for prurigo nodularis and atopic dermatitis.
CDX-622 works by neutralizing thymic stromal lymphopoietin and depleting mast cells through stem cell factor starvation. The combined approach is designed to reduce tissue mast cells and inhibit inflammatory responses.
The presentations will be posted on the company's website during the congress dates, according to the company's statement.
