Volkswagen Osnabrueck workers demand action on plant's future
Investing.com -- Workers at Volkswagen's Osnabrueck plant called on Wednesday for management to take immediate steps to secure the facility's future before production ends next year.
The IG Metall union and works council said no plan exists for the factory's next phase following the scheduled production halt.
"The workforce here stands united and expects management to quickly provide real perspectives for all employees," works council head Juergen Placke said in a statement released after a staff assembly.
The union confirmed that future plans for the Osnabrueck site remain undecided.
