Akamai earns Microsoft security partner designation for API solution

Akamai Technologies Inc. (NASDAQ: AKAM) received the Solutions Partner with certified software designation for API Security within Microsoft's AI Cloud Partner Program, the company announced June 10.

The designation recognizes software that demonstrates interoperability with Microsoft Cloud and meets program requirements. Akamai's certified software solution provides cross-platform visibility and security for customers using environments such as Microsoft Azure.

"APIs are the foundation of almost every digital interaction today. As AI adoption accelerates, the need for wide-scale protection has become a critical business requirement," said Paul Joseph, Executive Vice President, Global Sales and Services at Akamai. "Earning the Solutions Partner with certified software designation from Microsoft is a major milestone for our team."

The designation allows partners to demonstrate proven capabilities in areas of high customer demand, according to Andrew Smith, GM of Partner Programs & Experiences at Microsoft. Smith said the certification helps position partners to meet growing demand for cloud-based solutions.

The certified software designation reflects that Akamai's capabilities meet the program's requirements, according to the company's statement. The solution aims to provide organizations with visibility and protection across API landscapes.

Microsoft's disclaimer notes that certifications are specific to solution interoperability with Microsoft products and based on self-attestation by the solution owner. Solutions are certified only as of the review date, and functionality may change as controlled by the solution owner.
