Optimum Communications Inc. (NYSE: OPTU) announced it has exceeded 700,000 mobile lines, representing continued growth in its mobile services division. The telecommunications company attributed the milestone to customer demand for affordable connectivity options.
According to a survey conducted for Optimum, 79% of consumers reduced spending in the past two months, with 30% cutting expenses on TV, mobile, or internet services. The survey included over 1,000 U.S. adult internet and mobile service decision-makers in April.
"Surpassing 700,000 mobile lines is a reflection of the strong progress we are making as we continue to transform our business and strengthen the products and services we deliver for our customers," said Michael Parker, President of Consumer Services at Optimum.
The company offers bundled internet and mobile services starting at $60 per month. Optimum recently introduced savings of up to $20 monthly for customers who bundle internet with mobile unlimited plans. The mobile service operates on a nationwide 5G network.
Optimum also provides bundled entertainment packages that include internet-delivered TV with access to more than 70 channels and 20 network applications, plus local news content from its News 12 service.
The company serves approximately 4.3 million residential and business customers across 21 states, providing internet, video, mobile, and voice services. Optimum operates additional divisions including Optimum Media for advertising solutions and News 12 for local news coverage in the tri-state area.
