EnWave signs cannabis technology evaluation deal with Swiss firms

EnWave Corporation (TSX-V: ENW) entered into a technology evaluation and license option agreement with Swiss Cannabis Selection AG, a Switzerland-based medical cannabis company. The agreement includes collaboration with Schibano Pharma AG, a Swiss phytopharmaceutical company specializing in cannabinoid-derived products.

Under the agreement terms, Swiss Cannabis Selection and Schibano will evaluate EnWave's Radiant Energy Vacuum dehydration technology for potential application across cannabinoid and botanical products. Upon successful completion of the evaluation program, Swiss Cannabis Selection will have the option to enter into a commercial license agreement for deploying the technology within agreed-upon markets and applications.

Recent commercial-scale evaluations of the REV technology demonstrated the ability to accelerate drying timelines while maintaining product quality characteristics. Independent testing across multiple cannabis cultivars showed no statistically significant differences in sensory quality compared to conventionally dried control samples, according to the company. The evaluations also showed no meaningful impact on cannabinoid potency and no material change in total yeast and mold counts.

The testing demonstrated potential to reduce overall drying time by approximately two to five days, creating opportunities for increased production throughput and reduced dry-room occupancy. The technology maintained generally stable terpene profiles during the drying process.

Swiss Cannabis Selection operates an indoor cannabis cultivation facility and focuses on producing medical cannabis under ecological standards and GACP compliant practices. Schibano operates a vertically integrated platform encompassing genetics development, cultivation, extraction, and pharmaceutical ingredient manufacturing while maintaining pharmaceutical-quality manufacturing standards.

The evaluation will assess the technology's ability to process cannabinoid and botanical materials efficiently while preserving quality attributes and meeting operational and regulatory requirements. Evaluation activities are expected to commence in the coming months.
