Parsons begins $721 million Connecticut highway interchange project

Parsons Corporation (NYSE: PSN) participated in a groundbreaking ceremony for the I-91/I-691/Route 15 Interchange Improvements Project in Meriden, Connecticut, alongside the Connecticut Department of Transportation and other officials.

The company serves as engineer of record and prime design consultant for the three-phase, $721 million infrastructure program. Parsons will provide engineering services from final design through construction support for the project aimed at improving the interchange connecting major interstate routes in Connecticut's transportation network.

"This project is a critical investment in strengthening one of Connecticut's most critical transportation corridors," said Mark Fialkowski, president of Infrastructure North America for Parsons. "By advancing a phased, programmatic approach, we are helping deliver meaningful improvements to safety, mobility, and reliability while minimizing disruption to the traveling public."

The project targets improvements to mobility, safety, and long-term reliability along the I-91 corridor. The work addresses traffic weaving and merging conditions at the interchange, which serves as a connection point for interstate traffic in the Northeast regional network. The improvements are designed to reduce congestion and enhance reliability for commuters, freight transport, and local communities.

Parsons reports experience with more than 10,000 miles of roadways, 4,500 bridges, and over 50 advanced traffic management system deployments across its infrastructure portfolio. The company provides engineering services for roads, highways, bridges, rail systems, airports, and waterways.
