Darling Ingredients receives US patent for blood glucose collagen peptide

Darling Ingredients Inc. (NYSE: DAR) announced that the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office granted Patent No. US12636339 for Nextida GC, a collagen peptide ingredient designed to support blood glucose regulation after meals.
The patent covers both the production process and use of Nextida GC as a dietary supplement ingredient. The company describes the product as a non-pharmaceutical option for managing blood glucose through nutrition.
"This patent reinforces the scientific foundation behind Nextida GC and highlights Darling Ingredients' ability to translate its collagen expertise into targeted health solutions," said Randall C. Stuewe, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer.
Nextida GC is formulated for dietary supplement applications related to glucose control and metabolic support. The ingredient is part of Darling Ingredients' expanding collagen product portfolio developed through its health brand Rousselot.
The company has received patents for Nextida GC in Australia, Europe, Japan and China. Additional patent applications remain pending in Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Korea, Mexico, India and Peru.
Darling Ingredients operates over 260 facilities in more than 15 countries and processes approximately 15% of global animal agricultural by-products. The company produces about 30% of the world's collagen, including both gelatin and hydrolyzed collagen varieties.
