Autodesk Inc. (NASDAQ: ADSK) announced a strategic collaboration agreement with Amazon Web Services Inc. to advance cloud-based design and manufacturing solutions. The partnership will make Autodesk products available through AWS Marketplace beginning in the second quarter of Autodesk's fiscal year.
The collaboration initially includes Fusion for Product Design and Fusion Manage products. AWS customers will be able to purchase these solutions while maintaining existing AWS Private Pricing Agreements, according to the company's statement.
The agreement extends beyond product distribution to joint development efforts. Autodesk and AWS plan to collaborate on leveraging AWS cloud and artificial intelligence capabilities to support design and manufacturing workflows on Autodesk's cloud platform.
"By deepening our collaboration with AWS, we're taking another major step in helping customers choose how they design and make in the cloud," said Rachel Tuller, VP of Global Partner Ecosystem Sales at Autodesk.
Colin Lazier, Vice President of Databases at Amazon Web Services, stated the partnership combines "Autodesk's design and make expertise with AWS's cloud infrastructure and AI capabilities" to help customers scale operations.
Matterport, which uses both companies' services, indicated the collaboration would create a more unified experience for customers using its spatial data platform with Autodesk workflows on AWS infrastructure.
The San Francisco-based software company develops design and manufacturing technology for industries including construction, automotive, and entertainment. The partnership aims to provide customers with streamlined procurement processes and flexible cloud infrastructure access.
