RTX's Collins Aerospace opens expanded poland manufacturing facility

Collins Aerospace, a unit of RTX (NYSE: RTX), has opened an expanded 22,000 square-meter manufacturing facility in Tajęcina, Poland. The $69 million expansion increases landing gear system production capacity by nearly 25% for commercial and defense aircraft programs.

The facility will create approximately 190 new jobs this year and produces main, nose and wing landing gear assemblies. Collins Aerospace established operations in Poland in 2012 and also operates a facility in Krosno.

"Collins is making a long-term investment in both the local workforce and the future of aerospace in the broader Poland ecosystem," said Matt Maurer, vice president and general manager of Landing Systems at Collins Aerospace.

RTX's Pratt & Whitney business also announced a $100 million investment to expand production capacity at its Rzeszów facility. The Pratt & Whitney expansion focuses on engine components and is expected to increase output by 30% when operational by 2028.

Poland represents RTX's largest employee base outside the United States, with more than 9,400 employees across Collins Aerospace, Pratt & Whitney and Raytheon businesses. RTX operates nine major facilities in Poland and has maintained operations in the country for over 50 years.
