Humana reaffirms FY 2026 earnings guidance of at least $9 adjusted EPS

Humana Inc. (NYSE: HUM) plans to reaffirm its fiscal year 2026 earnings guidance during investor meetings scheduled between June 1 and June 30, 2026, according to a company statement.

The health insurer will maintain its guidance of at least $8.36 in diluted earnings per share and at least $9.00 in adjusted earnings per share for the year ending December 31, 2026. This guidance remains consistent with projections issued in the company's April 29, 2026 press release.

The adjusted earnings per share figure excludes several items from GAAP earnings, including $0.30 for amortization of identifiable intangibles, $0.81 for value creation initiatives, and negative $0.28 for put/call valuation adjustments related to non-consolidating minority interest investments. The cumulative net tax impact of these adjustments is negative $0.19.

Humana noted that its fiscal year 2026 GAAP earnings per share guidance excludes impacts from value changes that have not yet been recognized or cannot currently be estimated. The company stated it does not expect changes to its adjusted earnings guidance but anticipates potential changes to GAAP earnings guidance due to ongoing value creation and strategic initiatives.

The company uses adjusted earnings per share as an indicator of core business operations and for planning and compensation decisions, presenting it alongside GAAP measures to provide what it describes as a comprehensive perspective on operating performance.
