Cameco Corp. (NYSE: CCJ) announced that its McArthur River mine and Key Lake mill have returned to full production following a temporary disruption caused by flooding in northern Saskatchewan.
The company had halted or reduced operations at the facilities on May 10, 2026, after flooding caused the partial collapse of the Smoothstone River Bridge, which serves as the primary supply route to the sites. Weight and traffic restrictions on alternative roadways initially prevented delivery of critical operating materials.
Cameco stated it can now consistently deliver required materials using a secondary route, allowing operations to resume. The company maintains regular contact with the Saskatchewan Ministry of Highways regarding restoration of the primary supply route, though timing remains uncertain.
The uranium producer noted that continued spring thawing and precipitation could result in further road restrictions that might delay future material deliveries to the sites.
Cameco's Cigar Lake mine was not affected by the flooding and continued operations throughout the disruption. The company maintained its 2026 consolidated production outlook of 19.5 million to 21.5 million pounds of U3O8.
The McArthur River mine and Key Lake mill are located in northern Saskatchewan. The facilities were not directly impacted by flood waters, according to the company's statement.
