Emerson (NYSE: EMR) and Saudi Arabian Oil Company (Aramco) signed an agreement to co-develop corrosion management solutions for the energy company's operations.
Under the collaboration, Aramco will combine its expertise and intellectual property with Emerson's corrosion monitoring technology. The partnership focuses on developing ultrasonic online corrosion monitoring systems, wireless connectivity for wall thickness monitors, and real-time data collection capabilities.
The technology aims to replace manual corrosion measurements with continuous digital monitoring. Emerson's platform provides real-time insights through integrated automation across monitoring devices, wireless connectivity, and data analytics.
"Emerson, with our complete technology stack, is uniquely positioned to co-innovate the next-generation corrosion monitoring solutions that are cost-effective, scalable and customized for Aramco," said Ram Krishnan, chief operating officer for Emerson.
The collaboration targets corrosion management as a priority for Aramco's operational performance and safety requirements. The digital monitoring system is designed to provide continuous data streams for operational decision-making processes.
Emerson, headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri, provides automation solutions for industrial applications. The company announced the agreement on May 27, according to the press release statement.
