Cboe Global Markets, Inc. (CBOE: CBOE) announced the hiring of Boudewijn Duinstra as Executive Vice President and Chief Risk Officer. Duinstra will lead the company's global risk management function and report to Chief Executive Officer Craig Donohue.
Duinstra brings more than 30 years of experience in risk management, clearing and derivatives markets. He most recently served as CEO of ABN AMRO Clearing USA LLC and previously held the position of Head of Risk Management at ICE Clear Europe. He also served in senior roles at ABN AMRO, including Global Chief Risk Officer and Managing Board Member of ABN AMRO Clearing Bank.
The new executive will be based at Cboe's Chicago headquarters and will also spend time in Amsterdam to support the company's international operations, particularly Cboe Clear U.S. and European Equities business segments.
"Boudewijn Duinstra brings deep enterprise risk expertise, proven operational leadership, and direct experience in areas core to Cboe's future growth – particularly derivatives and clearing," said Donohue in a statement.
Duinstra said he looks forward to building on the existing risk management framework as Cboe's business continues to evolve. The appointment supports the company's growth strategy and global expansion of its risk management capabilities.
Cboe operates derivatives, equities, and foreign exchange markets, providing trading, clearing, and investment solutions globally. The company launched the world's first listed options exchange in 1973 and created the VIX Index.
