AMC reports best Thursday-Monday US attendance in 2026 over Memorial Day

AMC Entertainment (NYSE: AMC) welcomed more than 5 million moviegoers to its US theaters and ODEON Cinemas locations internationally during Memorial Day weekend, spanning Thursday through Monday. The company reported its highest-attended Thursday-through-Monday period of 2026 at US locations.
The Mandalorian and Grogu led weekend box office performance with a reported $82 million domestically over three days and approximately $100 million including Monday. The film marked the fifth movie in two months to open above $75 million domestically.
AMC reported strong demand for movie-themed merchandise tied to The Mandalorian and Grogu, including Grogu Pram popcorn vessels and Mando Helmet popcorn buckets. The merchandise program performance ranked as the third best in AMC history during a movie's opening weekend.
The weekend also featured continued strength from Obsession, which earned more than $30 million during the Memorial Day holiday weekend, representing an increase of more than 30% versus its opening weekend. Michael continued its box office performance during the holiday period.

AMC operates approximately 855 theaters and 9,640 screens globally, making it the largest movie exhibition company in the United States and worldwide. The company reported the information in a press release statement.
