ID.me partners with DocuSign to integrate identity verification

ID.me and DocuSign (NASDAQ: DOCU) announced a partnership to integrate digital identity verification into online agreement workflows. The collaboration allows users to verify their identity once through ID.me's platform and reuse those credentials across DocuSign transactions without re-entering information.

The integration enables identity verification that meets federal security standards, specifically NIST Identity Assurance Level 2 requirements, for high-value transactions such as bank account openings, lease signings, and loan completions. Users can access the service through existing ID.me accounts or create new accounts within DocuSign's agreement workflows.

ID.me reports nearly 170 million users, with over 90 million verified to federal standards. DocuSign serves over 1.8 million customers and one billion users globally. The partnership aims to address AI-driven fraud threats while reducing verification friction for users completing sensitive transactions.

Mangesh Bhandarkar, Group Vice President of Product Management at DocuSign, stated that the integration allows customers to complete IAL2 verification through simple sign-in without additional steps or friction.

The service provides Identity Assurance Level 2 standard verification to support compliance requirements and reduce identity fraud risks. Users no longer need to manage multiple passwords, answer security questions, or upload documents for each new transaction.
