BlackBerry Limited (NYSE: BB) (TSX: BB) announced that its AtHoc platform completed 2026 Class D (High) re-certification under the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP).
The certification applies to cloud services handling the U.S. government's most sensitive unclassified data, where loss of confidentiality, integrity, or availability could severely impact operations or public safety. BlackBerry states it is the only Critical Event Management provider to achieve this certification level.
"Re-certification with FedRAMP Class D (High) underscores the operational maturity and security rigor BlackBerry AtHoc delivers to government and critical infrastructure customers every day," said Ramon Pinero, General Manager of BlackBerry AtHoc.
The platform serves 80% of U.S. federal government agencies, along with defense organizations, law enforcement, emergency services, and critical infrastructure operators globally for crisis communications and incident management.
BlackBerry enhanced the AtHoc platform's Command Center since its initial certification, creating a unified operational workspace that enables agencies to establish shared operating pictures, track personnel accountability, and coordinate response activities across multiple sites and organizations.
"As agencies face increasingly complex threats and operational demands, trusted and compliant communications infrastructure is essential to maintaining readiness and protecting public safety," said Dubhe Beinhorn, Senior Vice President of Public Sector at BlackBerry Secure Communications.
The announcement comes as U.S. government requirements and investment in mission-critical emergency notification and crisis coordination continue to increase, according to the company's statement.
