Safe Pro Group Inc. (NASDAQ: SPAI) announced progress in its AI-powered threat detection collaboration with Lantronix Inc. (NASDAQ: LTRX) following a 120-day development cycle. The partnership focuses on integrating Safe Pro's technology with Lantronix's System-on-Module platform for real-time robotic edge processing.
The collaboration centers on edge-native AI and vision processing for airborne robotic platforms, supporting on-device AI engines and Neural Processing Units for real-time processing without cloud dependence. Lantronix's Open-Q SOM solutions are currently used in various robotic and autonomous platforms, including U.S. Army Short Range Reconnaissance drones.
Under a Master Services Agreement signed earlier this year, the companies agreed to joint development, integration and commercialization of embeddable chipsets for Qualcomm-based drone and autonomous vehicle platforms, with native support for Safe Pro's Object Threat Detection AI algorithms.
"Compatibility with Lantronix's on-board compute and processing hardware used by leading global drone and autonomous system manufacturers significantly increases the addressable market for Safe Pro," said Dan Erdberg, Chairman and CEO of Safe Pro Group Inc.
Safe Pro's threat detection technology utilizes what the company describes as one of the world's largest real-world landmine and unexploded ordnance datasets, consisting of over 2.75 million drone images analyzed and 49,000+ threats detected from battlefields.
Safe Pro develops AI-enabled defense, security, and situational awareness solutions, while Lantronix provides Edge AI and Industrial IoT solutions for unmanned systems, critical infrastructure, and enterprise networks.
