Redwire Corporation (NYSE: RDW) announced it received a $15 million follow-on order from the 1st Aviation Brigade, US Army Aviation Center of Excellence for Stalker uncrewed aerial systems.
The contract represents the third order from the 1st Aviation Brigade in eight months, bringing total recent orders to $24.8 million. The Stalker systems will be delivered to the 2nd Battalion, 13th Aviation Regiment at Fort Huachuca for advanced individual training with the Army's 15-series Military Occupational Specialty Tactical Unmanned Aircraft System Specialists.
The 15-series MOS combines operator and maintainer functions focused on reconnaissance, surveillance, and target acquisition operations with ground forces. The training program addresses the Army's evolving drone maintenance and operations requirements.
"Our Stalker is purpose built to meet multiple mission needs, and will significantly bolster the U.S. Army's ability to detect, identify, and track threats across a wide range of operational theaters," said Steve Adlich, President of Redwire Defense Tech.
The Stalker system features a Modular Open Systems Approach that enables payload swapping and technical upgrades while reducing vendor lock and lifecycle costs. Redwire states the system design improves interoperability between different platforms.
Redwire operates UAS training programs for US Department of Defense, US federal civilian agencies, Five Eyes alliance members, NATO, and international customers. The company's training programs incorporate operational lessons from hundreds of thousands of flight hours across six continents.
The Jacksonville, Florida-based company employs approximately 1,400 people across North America and Europe, focusing on space and defense technology solutions.
