Trane Technologies (NYSE: TT) opened the BrainBox AI Trane Technologies AI Lab and showroom in Montreal, Canada. The facility brings together researchers, software engineers, data scientists and technologists to develop AI-driven solutions for HVAC and transport refrigeration systems.
The lab aims to reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions in buildings through autonomous systems. The adjacent showroom provides an environment where customers can explore AI applications in building operations.
"Through the AI Lab, we are bringing together world-class talent and industry-leading technology to shape the next generation of climate innovation," said Riaz Raihan, Senior Vice President and Chief Digital Officer at Trane Technologies.
The lab builds on Trane Technologies' acquisition of BrainBox AI and was first introduced in August 2025. The facility focuses on translating research into customer-ready solutions while emphasizing responsible AI development.
Jean-Simon Venne, Founder, President and Chief Technology Officer at BrainBox AI and Head of the AI Lab, said the facility will "help supercharge collaboration, translate ideas into practical applications and help ensure innovations are developed responsibly and sustainably."
The lab operates with support from AWS, IVADO and Concordia University. The company held a launch event for the facility, which was broadcast on YouTube.
