Digi International (NASDAQ: DGII) announced the launch of Digi Connect EZ 4 TS and Digi Connect EZ 8 TS serial device servers designed to help organizations modernize legacy serial infrastructure.
The new products offer 4-port and 8-port models with software-selectable RS-232/422/485 capabilities. The devices include Digi TrustFence security features with encryption, authentication and VPN support.
"Digi Connect EZ TS delivers a secure and practical way to modernize serial connectivity while preserving existing infrastructure," said Jon Borscheid, Senior Director of Product Management at Digi International.
The EZ TS family builds on the current Digi Connect EZ platform and provides a transition path for existing ConnectPort TS and PortServer TS deployments. The devices feature centralized management through Digi Remote Manager or On-Prem Manager.
Additional features include a panel-friendly design for cabinet integration, setup capabilities with Digi Navigator, Python support for edge automation, and one-year Digi LifeCycle Assurance that includes technical support and centralized management.
The Digi Remote Manager platform is SOC 2 Type validated and provides cloud-based deployment and monitoring with stated uptime of 99.9%. The On-Prem Manager offers similar capabilities for air-gapped environments.
Both the Digi Connect EZ 4 TS (EZ04-TS00-GLB) and Digi Connect EZ 8 TS (EZ08-TS00-GLB) are available for order and include LifeCycle Assurance.
The company states the devices are designed for industrial automation, robotics, retail point-of-sale, kiosks and embedded systems applications. The servers enable organizations to connect legacy serial devices over IP networks while maintaining compliance with enterprise security standards including TLS, FIPS, VPN, RADIUS and TACACS+.
