Arteris Inc. (NASDAQ: AIP) announced that Li Auto Inc. has deployed its system IP technology in the L9 Livis SUV and plans to use it in future smart vehicles. The semiconductor technology company's FlexNoC 5 NoC interconnect IP and Magillem SoC integration automation software support Li Auto's proprietary system-on-chip development.
Li Auto's autonomous driving SoC provides the L9 Livis SUV with computing power of 2,560 trillion operations per second to perform AI computational tasks for autonomous vehicles. The company used Arteris technology to meet high-performance compute requirements, energy efficiency targets, and functional safety standards.
"We chose Arteris for our SoC development to help us meet the high functional, performance, and safety requirements for autonomous driving chips," said Luo Min, Head of Computing Unit at Li Auto.
The implementation utilizes a 5-nanometer process node and integrates various processing elements including CPUs, GPUs, AI accelerators, sensor interfaces, and functional safety capabilities. Arteris' physical awareness capabilities helped Li Auto optimize architecture while reducing design risk.
Li Auto designs, develops, manufactures, and sells premium smart electric vehicles in China's new energy vehicle market. The company started volume production in November 2019 and currently offers a flagship family MPV, four Li L series extended-range electric SUVs, and two Li i series battery electric SUVs.
Arteris provides semiconductor technology for network-on-chip interconnect intellectual property, system-on-chip software for integration automation, and hardware security assurance used by technology companies worldwide.
