M/I Homes elects Gene Smith to board of directors

M/I Homes, Inc. (NYSE: MHO) announced that Eugene D. Smith was elected to the company's board of directors at its 2026 annual meeting of shareholders held on May 13, 2026. Smith replaces Norman L. Traeger, who retired from the board at the meeting.
Smith previously served as senior vice president and director of athletics at The Ohio State University and currently operates Gene Smith Consulting, LLC, which provides leadership training services focused on collegiate athletic administrators and coaches.
During his career, Smith held athletic director positions at The Ohio State University, Arizona State University, Iowa State University and Eastern Michigan University. He currently serves as a director of Under Armour, Inc. and on the boards of the Big Ten Network, Arizona Sports Foundation, National Football Foundation and National Coalition of Minority Football Coaches.

M/I Homes operates as a homebuilder of single-family homes with operations in Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Minnesota, Michigan, Florida, Texas, North Carolina and Tennessee. The company is celebrating its 50th year in business in 2026.
