Ashland appoints Bertrand Loy to board of directors

Ashland Inc. (NYSE: ASH) appointed Bertrand Loy to its board of directors, effective May 15. The company announced the appointment in a press release statement.

Loy currently serves as director and executive chair of Entegris Inc. (NASDAQ: ENTG), a supplier of advanced materials and process solutions for the semiconductor and high-technology industries. He previously served as Entegris' president and chief executive officer.

Loy will serve on Ashland's audit and governance and nominating committees, also effective May 15. The appointment increases Ashland's board size to nine members in anticipation of potential director retirements under the board's retirement and resignation policy.

"As we continue to drive our strategy to execute, globalize, innovate and invest, Bertrand will provide distinctive viewpoints about advancing and accelerating scalable growth."

Ashland is a global additives and specialty ingredients company serving customers in architectural coatings, construction, energy, food and beverage, personal care and pharmaceutical markets. The company employs approximately 2,900 people and operates in more than 100 countries.
