William Paterson University buys WRAP virtual reality training system

Wrap Technologies Inc. (NASDAQ: WRAP) announced that William Paterson University in Wayne, New Jersey, purchased its WrapReality virtual reality training system for the university's Criminology and Criminal Justice Program.

The WrapReality system provides immersive training scenarios designed to help students practice communication, de-escalation, ethical reasoning, and critical thinking skills. The virtual reality platform places users in simulated high-stakes situations that can be reviewed and repeated for educational purposes.

"Through the WrapReality VR system, which places individuals into high-stakes training scenarios, students may practice effective communication, de-escalation, ethical reasoning, procedural justice, and critical thinking for improving both academic and professional outcomes," said Colleen Eren, WPU Program Director of Criminology and Criminal Justice.

William Paterson University's Criminology and Criminal Justice Program prepares students for careers in law enforcement, law, courts, corrections, public safety, nonprofits, and data analytics. The university plans to integrate the VR system into its curriculum to connect classroom instruction with scenario-based decision-making exercises.

The WrapReality platform creates interactive scenarios intended to strengthen communication, situational awareness, decision-making, and de-escalation skills. The system allows instructors to present students with varying fact patterns and decision points that reflect real-world situations.

The purchase supports Wrap Technologies' strategy to expand WrapReality adoption beyond law enforcement customers into educational institutions and other markets. The Miami-based company develops public safety technologies including non-lethal devices and training systems.
