Barrick shareholders elect nine directors at annual meeting

Barrick Mining Corporation (NYSE: B) announced that shareholders elected nine directors at the company's 2026 annual meeting, according to voting results released May 14.
Robert A.P. Samek received the highest support with 99.63% of votes cast in favor, while John L. Thornton received the lowest approval at 81.1%. Helen Cai garnered 87.49% support, making her the second-lowest approved nominee.
The complete list of elected directors includes Helen Cai, Brian L. Greenspun, J. Brett Harvey, Mark F. Hill, Anne N. Kabagambe, Robert A.P. Samek, Loreto Silva, John L. Thornton, and Pekka J. Vauramo.
Shareholders also approved the appointment of auditors with 93.27% voting in favor and 6.73% withholding support. The advisory resolution on executive compensation received 76.66% approval, with 23.34% voting against the proposal.
Total votes cast for director elections ranged from approximately 1.07 billion to 1.08 billion shares across the various nominees. The information was based on final vote calculations from the shareholder meeting.
Barrick operates mining, exploration and development activities across 17 countries, with gold and copper assets spanning five continents.
