Anheuser-Busch (NYSE: BUD) announced a $5 million investment in its Columbus, Ohio brewery to expand production capacity for Michelob ULTRA and Michelob ULTRA Zero brands. The company also plans to open a new technical skills training center at the facility.
The investment is part of Anheuser-Busch's Brewing Futures initiative, through which the company is investing $600 million in its U.S. operations across 2025 and 2026. The Columbus facility expansion will increase the brewery's capacity to produce both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beer varieties.
"This investment in our Columbus Brewery strengthens our ability to brew the highest-quality American beers that consumers love, while creating and sustaining jobs in the communities where we operate," said Brendan Whitworth, CEO of Anheuser-Busch.
The new technical skills training center is one of 15 that Anheuser-Busch is opening nationwide to upskill employees in mechanical and electrical systems. The company plans to upskill more than 90 percent of its manufacturing workforce over the next five years.
Anheuser-Busch has operated in Columbus for more than 50 years and has invested more than $71 million in the brewery over the past five years. Approximately 10 percent of the Columbus workforce consists of veterans or active service members.
The company continues its partnership with the Manufacturing Institute's Heroes MAKE America initiative to provide former and current service members with resources to pursue manufacturing careers.
