American Express (NYSE: AXP) announced expanded acceptance at three Canadian restaurant chains: Chuck's Roadhouse, Smoke's Poutinerie, and Mandy's Salads. The payment network said the expansion provides cardholders with additional dining options across Canada.
According to the company, American Express cardholders in Canada spent an average of CAD $3,000 on dining and made more than 75 dining purchases in 2025. The company stated that dining represents one of the primary spending categories for its cardholders.
"We are committed to ensuring our Cardmembers can use their Amex wherever they live, work and travel," said Kerri-Ann Santaguida, Vice President and General Manager of American Express Merchant Services, Canada.
American Express reported that dining locations accepting its cards in Canada have increased by more than 1.5 times since 2021. The company said it currently has acceptance at millions of locations across Canada.
The payment company sponsors Restaurants Canada and Association Restauration Québec as part of its restaurant industry partnerships. American Express also sponsors MTLàTABLE, an event focused on Montreal's restaurant scene.
