Laser Photonics unveils portable laser cleaner for military use
Laser Photonics Corporation (NASDAQ: LASE) announced the availability of a portable laser system designed for military equipment maintenance, according to a company press release. The DefenseTech MRLS Portable Finishing Laser 1020 (DTMF-1020) was developed in partnership with Fonon Technologies, an affiliated company within the LASE Group.
The system targets rust removal and surface preparation for Department of Defense and military services. The device operates using dual-axis, air-cooled pulsed fiber laser technology housed in a weatherproof case weighing less than traditional alternatives.
Technical specifications show the DTMF-1020 processes approximately 24 square feet per hour at 110V, 60Hz, and 15A operational voltage. The system uses air cooling and features a portable, weatherproof case design.
The laser system replaces chemical and abrasive cleaning methods with laser ablation technology. Safety features include emergency stops, key switches, interlocks, and emission indicators designed for defense environment operations.
"The DTMF-1020 reflects our continued commitment to delivering innovative, field-ready laser solutions that address the real-world maintenance challenges facing our military and government customers," said Wayne Tupuola, Chief Executive Officer of Laser Photonics.
Matt Kime, VP of Government Sales at Fonon Technologies, stated the system "replaces needle guns, chemical baths, and sandblasters with elite laser precision."
Fonon Technologies serves government organizations, U.S. military branches, and defense contractors. Laser Photonics develops laser technologies for cleaning, surface preparation, and material processing across defense, aerospace, energy, maritime, automotive, and manufacturing sectors.
