Astrana Health appoints George Christides as interim medical director

Astrana Health, Inc. (NASDAQ: ASTH) announced the appointment of George Christides, M.D. as Interim National Medical Director on May 12, 2026, according to a company statement.
Dr. Christides will oversee the company's population health, care management, and care navigation initiatives across its national platform. He brings more than 20 years of clinical and healthcare leadership experience in value-based care, population health, and managed care operations.
Prior to this appointment, Dr. Christides served as Senior Medical Director, Population Health at Astrana, where he led clinical and population health initiatives across the organization. Before joining Astrana, he held positions as Senior Medical Director at Optum and Chief Medical Officer at AppleCare Medical Management.
Dr. Christides earned his Bachelor of Science in Cell and Molecular Biology from University of California, Los Angeles and his medical degree from Penn State College of Medicine. He completed his residency in internal medicine at University of Southern California and holds an MBA from West Texas A&M University.
Astrana Health operates as a physician-centric, technology-enabled healthcare company. The company supports more than 20,000 providers and approximately 1.55 million patients in value-based care arrangements through its affiliated provider networks, management services organization, and integrated care delivery clinics.
