Tyler Technologies Inc. (NYSE: TYL) signed an agreement with the Riverside County Sheriff's Office in California to provide its Enterprise Corrections jail management system, the company announced.
The Plano, Texas-based technology company was selected through a request for proposal process to replace a legacy system that has been in use for 30 years. The new cloud-based system, powered by Amazon Web Services, will serve five jail facilities in the county.
Riverside County has a population of 2.5 million people and ranks as California's fourth largest county. The sheriff's office employs more than 4,000 staff members and covers over 7,000 square miles in southern California.
The Enterprise Corrections system will handle operations including inmate intake and release, population management, and facility safety and security functions. The cloud deployment is designed to reduce hardware management requirements compared to on-premise installations.
"This will mark one of Tyler's largest Enterprise Corrections deployments to date," said Mandye Robinson, general manager of Tyler's Enterprise Corrections division.
Tyler Technologies provides technology solutions for government entities and reports nearly 47,000 installations across 15,000 locations. The company serves clients in all 50 states, Canada, the Caribbean, Australia, and other international markets.
The agreement details, including contract value and implementation timeline, were not disclosed in the company's announcement.
