OceanaGold reports drill results from Haile gold mine in South Carolina
OceanaGold Corporation (NYSE: OGC) announced drill results from its exploration program at the Haile Gold Mine in South Carolina, according to a company statement.
The drilling program targeted three areas at the mine. At Horseshoe Underground, results included 15.5 meters at 30.64 grams per tonne gold and 30.5 meters at 13.86 grams per tonne gold. At Ledbetter Underground, drilling returned 27.9 meters at 8.60 grams per tonne gold and 27.9 meters at 4.16 grams per tonne gold.
At the Clydesdale target, initial drilling produced 14.5 meters at 15.81 grams per tonne gold, including 4.5 meters at 41.6 grams per tonne gold.
The company completed 14 holes totaling 4,372 meters at Horseshoe extensions and eight holes totaling 4,306 meters at Ledbetter since September 2025. OceanaGold plans approximately 34,500 meters of drilling at Haile for 2026 from both surface and underground locations.
Gerard Bond, president and CEO, said the drilling demonstrates potential for reserve growth near existing infrastructure at Horseshoe, with mineralization remaining open in multiple directions. He noted that results from Ledbetter strengthen confidence in resource conversion and that Clydesdale represents an emerging target area.
The company changed the mining method for the final pit phase of Ledbetter to underground mining in February 2026, expanding exploration opportunities as mineralization outside the previous pit shell is now potentially economic.
OceanaGold operates the Haile Gold Mine in the United States, Macraes and Waihi operations in New Zealand, and holds an 80% interest in the Didipio Mine in the Philippines.
