Rigetti Computing plans $100 million UK quantum investment

Rigetti Computing (NASDAQ: RGTI) announced plans to invest up to $100 million in the United Kingdom over the next three to four years to advance quantum computing development.

The investment will fund deployment of a UK-based quantum computing system with over 1,000 qubits, according to the company's statement. The initiative builds on Rigetti's existing UK operations and aligns with the UK government's efforts to develop domestic quantum infrastructure.

The planned investment is intended to support development of scalable superconducting quantum systems and establish long-term partnerships with government, academic, and industry organizations in the region.

Rigetti Computing develops quantum computing systems and cloud services for research and commercial applications.
