GE HealthCare Technologies Inc. (NASDAQ: GEHC) announced new magnetic resonance imaging systems and artificial intelligence-powered tools at the International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine 2026 Annual Meeting in Chicago.
The company introduced SIGNA One, an AI-powered workflow ecosystem designed to improve efficiency and enable consistent imaging across clinical and research environments. The platform includes one-click switching between clinical and research modes within examinations.
GE HealthCare announced that its Sonic DL for 2D imaging technology has received 510(k) pending status with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. The deep-learning acceleration technique is intended to benefit up to 85% of MR examinations when combined with existing Sonic DL technology for cardiac and 3D imaging.
The company showcased SIGNA Bolt, a 3T MRI system that received 510(k) clearance, and SIGNA Sprint with Freelium, a helium-free 1.5T system that uses less than 1% helium compared to conventional magnets. The Freelium technology eliminates vent pipe requirements while maintaining operational efficiency.
GE HealthCare announced installations of its investigational MAGNUS prototype head-only MR scanner at King's College London and West China Hospital. The system is designed for neuroscience research applications including microstructural imaging and advanced diffusion techniques.
"This platform gives us the ability to investigate aspects of brain structure and function that were previously out of reach," said Dr. Steve Williams, Professor of Imaging Sciences at King's College London.
The company also introduced SIGNA Studio, software development and collaboration resources for MR research, and expanded its AIR Recon DL deep-learning reconstruction technology to support Zero Echo Time and low-acoustic noise imaging applications.
